Low scoring final
Muckalee appearing in their sixth final in a row were unsucessful in their attempt to make it five out of six.The game was played in Nowlan Park before apprecative followers but it was not to be for Muckalee , as Railyard triumphed after a well contested game. Colin McGrath opened the scoring in th fourth minute taking a pass from John Maher the next scores went to Railyard but Muckalee hit a purple patch from the twenty first to the twenty fourth minutes, first Colin McGrath scored his second point after a pass from Robert Shore , next Shane Coonan pointed with the assist from John Maher, and it was Robert Shore who provided the pass for John Maher to score Muckalees only goal of the game to leave the half-time score 1-3 to 0-3. On the resumption it was still all to play for and it was Railyard who took their chances to win with goal and a late point. Eoin McGrath got our only point in the second half with the assist from Bryan Byrne in the fifteeth minute. Although the lads were dissapointed with the loss they can take great satisfaction from their efforts over recent years winning four titles.Final score 1-5 to 1-4.
