Good Friday for footballers
Muckalee and St, Patricks Ballyraggett was the novel paring in this quarteg final clash played in Lisdowney. On an evening taken from summertime the sides served up a good game and it was last years Intermediate winners that took to game to the title holders racing into a two point lead. James Maher got Muckalee off the mark in the sixth minute and two Colin McGrath points had his side in front after the first quarter. Shane Coonan was unlucky with an effort crashing off the cross bar and Colin McGrath had four more points to leave the half time score 0-7 to 0-4. Ballyraggett were first on the scoreboard on the resumption with a point to leave just two between the sides but a Paddy Nolan score steadied the nerves, a black card for a Muckalee player was closely followed by a point blank save by John Coonan had it gone it would have levelled the game. The colour of the next card was a red for a Ballyraggett player and with Colin landing three points and Brandon Sheehan a second black card replacement landing the final score to leave the result 0-12 to 0-5 . Muckalee will be glad to make the semis but still have lots of work to do .
