Six up

Muckalee made it to their sixth Senior Football final in a row but not after a searching test from a determined Mooncoin side. The game was played in Ballyhale and it was Mooncoin who made most of the running in the opening half taking an early two point lead before Tom Morrissey opened Muckalee’s scoring in the tenth minute and a further point from Tom and James Maher left the half time score 0-3 to 0-5. At this stage defeat was a strong possibility in the semi final unless they upped their performance with a point from John Mulhall and two rapid fire points from James Maher had Muckalee in front in the forthy sixth minute. A goal from Brandon Sheehan in the fifty fourth minute after a fine move was the defining score of the game , Mooncoin were unable to get back into the game .John Maher and John Mulhall added further points to leave the final score was1-8 to 0-6.
