U12s play Dicksboro


Our U12 Hurling squad played their first friendly of 2010 on Thursday night 8th April, in Muckalee against Dicksboro. Such was the size of the turnout that 2 games were played simultaneously. All the lads put in a great effort and the games were played in great spirits. Well done to you all,  keep up the good work and keep up the efforts on the training field also.

Minors loose to Lisdowney

The minors played Lisdowney in the first round of the league in Muckalee.  Conditions were not good with strong wind and rain.  Martins played with the wind in the first half and got some fine points but Lisdowney got the goals and led at half time 4-03 to 0-11.  Playing with the wind in the second half Lisdowney continued to dominate and won on a final score Lisdowney 7-10  St. Martins 2-12.

Minor match against Lisdowney in Muckalee on Monday 29th March is off.  Will confirm new date later.

U16 win first match


The u 16 took on Shamrocks in Ballyhale on Saturday.  Shamrocks started the better and opened the scoring with a 1-02  before martins got a penalty which they put over the bar.  Half time score St. Martins -03 Shamrocks 1-05.  Martins started the second half with a penalty which they put away.  They followed this with 3 more  goals and looked to be comfortable winners but Shamrocks did not give up and got 3 goals before the final whistle.  But Martins just edged out on a score of 4-07 to 4-05.

U14 go down to Railyard

The u14 played Railyard on Saturday evening .  Railyard started well and opened the scoring with a goal and a point before Martins settled.  Martins replied with 2 points.  Before half-time Railyard got 2 more points to leave the half-time score St. Martins 0-02  Railyard 1-03.  Martins started the second half the strongest with 3 unanswered points to leave only a point between the sides.  They had more chances but were unable to score.  Railyard put in a strong finish and won on a score line of Railyard 2-05  St. Martins 0-05.

U14 presentation Night


The u14 presentation night will take place in Coon Hall on Thursday 11th March at 7pm.  County Board chairman Paul Kinsella will present the medals.

u14 loose to James Stephens B


James Stephens b proved much to strong for St. Martins in the 3 rd round of the football league.  This game was played in Muckalee in good conditons on saturday.  James Stephens opened  the scoring and led a half time 5-05 to 1-0.  In the second half the boys continued to work hard and were unlucky not to have another few scores.  Final score St. martins 3-01 James Stephens 5-10.

U14 play Conahy in Football league


The u14 played Conahy in the 1st round of the league in Muckalee on Sunday.  They started well and led by 1-01 to 0-02 half way through the 1st half but Conahy came back and scored 2 quick goals to lead at half time St. Martins 1-01 Conahy 2-03.  Conahy  continued the pressure in the second half and won 2-08 to 1-03.

Rower prove to strong for U14


The U14 played the Rower Inistioge in the semi-final of the Micheal Meany  country cup on Sunday in Ballyhale . The Rower started well and had 5 points scored before Shane Kinsella opened our scoring with a pointed free.  The lads worked hard and had some good chances but were unlucky not too have a few more scores.  Final score: St. Martins 1-08 Rower Inistioge 5-10.

U14 reach semi-final of country cup


The under 14 played Glenmore in the quarter final of the country cup on Sunday. Conditions were terrible and it was hard to control the ball. The lads showed great heart and worked hard and eventually won by a single point.  Final score St.Martins 1-7 Glenmore 1-6.
