Fr. Delaney Tournament


The U10 team played Conahy in the final of the Fr. Delaney tournament in Muckalee on Monday .  They were that bit stronger and won the game .  It was a good end to the year for them.  Many thanks to Fr. Delaney for presenting the medals and to the ladies who provided refreshments.

Minors loose out to Lisdowney

The minors bowed out of the Championship this afternoon.  They started well and opened the scoring  with a free by Canice maher.  This was followed by 3 more also by Canice before Lisdowney got their first a point from a free.  They followed this by another point and then they got 2 quick goals to leave them ahead by 2 points.  But Martins regrouped and got back to go in level at half time.  St. Martins 0-10 Lisdowney 2-04.  After the restart their was exchanges of points before Martins were down to 14 men with the  sending off of Luke Maher.  The lads worked hard and after 18 mins they were ahead by 2 points but this was to be their last score and Lisdowney shot over 6 unanswered points to win.  Final score St. Martins 0-15 Lisdowney 2-13.

Minors reach semi-finals


The minors beat Tullaroan to reach the semi-final stage of the championship.  This was a tough game played in ideal conditions.  Martins started well and led at half time 1-10 to 0-07.  They continued to dominate in the second half and eventually won 3-17 to 0-15.  Their next match is against Lisdowney next weekend.

The u 14 completed the double today by winning the roinn c county final.  They beat Tullogher Rosbercon 1-09 to 0-07.  This was always going to be a close battle.  Martins started well with points from Donal Shore (3) and Shane Kinsella (1) before Tullogher scored their first.  Tullogher scored 2 more from frees before William Trousdell stepped up with Martins  goal leaving them ahead at half time 1-04 to 0-03.  The second half was close with both sides battling hard for everything but Martins held out and secured victory. final score 1-09 to 0-07.

The u14 played Conahy Shamrocks in the semi-final.  This game was all one sided. Martins started well and opened with a goal and a point from Shane Dowling .  This was then followed by points from Donal Shore and William Trousdell before 2 more goals coming from Donal Shore and Mark Dowling sent Martins in at half time 3-07 to 0-02.  The second half continued the same and Martins ran out easy winners final score 7-17 to 1-05.  Final next weekend see Kilkenny People for details.

Another good win for U14


The under 14 played Johnstown in the quarter final of the championship.  This game was played in Freshford in good conditions.  The boys got off to a good start and put over some fine points.  Half time scoreSt. Martins 13pts Johnstown 3pts.  In the second half Johnstown came back at them but they had enough done to win.  Final score St. Martins 17pts  Johnstown 1-07.

The Minors took on Dunnamaggin in the first round of the championship.  This game was played in ideal conditions.  They started well and fought for every ball and took a 10pts to 3 lead at half time. Following the break we got 2 quick goals and after that we  added on some fine points to win easily.  Final score St. Martins 2-18  Dunnamaggin 0-10.

The minor match against Dunnamaggin fixed for saturday will nowbe played on Friday 10th in Gowran at 6.30pm

Good win for U14


The under 14 played Dicksboro B in Clara in the first round of the championship.  They got off to a good start scoring 1-4 before Dicksboro registered their first point from a free.  They continued their good run and led at half time 3-7 to 0-4.  They started the second half  with some good points and ran out easy winners 4-14 to 1-06.  They now meet Johnstown in the quarter final on Monday next.

U12s travel to Lucan Sarsfields


Our U12 team traveled to Lucan Sarsfields on Saturday29th August last to compete in their Féile Competition. The team travelled by Bus on Saturday morning and played 3 games in total. They finished the day 3rd in their group and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
