Killeedy Cup Win

All roads led to Raheenagh County Limerick today for Semi Final of the All Ireland Junior B Hurling Championship. It was an early start  with snow on the hills when the bus set out at 8.30.on the 360k round trip.Padraigh Pearses of Galway were our opponents and it was clear after the the Referee got the game going that it was going to be a great contest with both sides giving their all inpursuit of victory. The Galway side had the better of first and led at the break 0-7 to 0-5,despite having a man sent off.Saint Martins really got into their rythm and the scores started to flow on the resumption Pearses did not get on the scoreboard until late in the game and with Martins five points up with the game going into added time  were happy to hang on for a one point win and a place in The All Ireland Final for The Killeedy Cup.

martins come up short

St.Martins v Dicksboro got their Northern Semi Final of the U21 Championship player after many Postponements ,this game was also in doubt because of  fog in Freshford  but the game went ahead in Tullaroan .Martins tore into the game from the off and scored a goal by debutant Sean Meany after a pass from Canice Maher.Martins  led at half time1-4 to 1-3 and looked set for another big effort to try and make it to the Final but the loss through injury of three players upset the balance of the Team. Dicksboro dominated the scoring in this  period and Martins came up short but Martins can be very proud of the way the kept on going to the Final whistle and kept the large attendance entertained after all the  extra travelling.
