Into Final
St.Martins and Young Irelands of Gowran played their long awaited Semi-Final of the u14 Roinn B Hurling Championship, the venue was the James Stephens ground in Larchfield. In a well contested and sporting game Martins ability to take their goal chances and team work was the differance between the sides. Gowran trailed at the break 0-7 to 3-4 . In the second half Martins took a grip on the game and went on to win 3-12 to 0-8. Three teams are still in contention for the other spot in the final Piltown, Tullogher/Rosbercon or Galmoy/Winegap

League Champions
Saint Martins are Roinn B Champions for 2016 after a good win against Tullogher Rosbercon in a well contested game in Danesfort. Martins lost the toss and had to contend with a strong wind in the opening half and this they did with some heroic defending from Patrick Brennan, Matthew Shorthall, and Ciaran Nolan outside them Russel Kealy, Tristan Roche and Jack Farrell stood strong and resolute. Oisin Kelly somehow kept his goal intact with a great save from a deflected shot . The half time score was 0-6 to 1-0 in favour of the lads from the South. Wind assisted Martins took a grip at midfield early in the second half with Shane O Neill and Thomas Lawlor giving it everything in pursuit of victory.Up front the half forwards Josh Dempsey, Bill Dowling and Shane Fahy combined well with the inside line of Luke Burke, Joseph Reid and Cillian Bryan and a return of 1-8 was testament to their teamwork and skill on the day. Final score 2-8 to 0-8 from two skillfull sides. Captain Thomas Lawlor stressed the importance of the panel in the victory, and thanked the mentors. also Tullogher Rosbercon were complimented on their performance. Quarter Final win
Saint Martins and Glenmore squared off in the quarter final or the u14 Chgampionship in Thomastown. Glenmore had first use of the strong wind and built up early lead Martins fought back well to lead at the break 3-2 to 1-7. With both sides striving manfully to gain the upper hand the lead changed often but St.Martins showed character to secure a win with a late goal. Well done to both sides on a fine contest. Final score 4-8 to 3-9.

Good start
Saint Martins u14 hurlers made a good start in the u14 Roinn B Champoinship getting a win against Danesfort. Johns Park was the venue on a nice evening with Danesfort getting first use of the fresh breeze. St. Martins trailed after the first ten minutes but fought back well to lead at the break 2-10 to 1-4. Wind assisted Martins kept up the pressure in the second half despite a late flourish from Danesfort to run out winners 4-20 – to 3-6.

Kealy Cup
Bennettsbridge u14 hurlers were the visitors to Muckalee to take on Saint Martins in the final of the Kealy Cup. The evening turned out wet but that did not affect the players who treated the big attendance to a very entertaining contest, Saint Martins ran out winners. Bord na nOg chairman Tom Cullen commended all and called on Paddy Kealy to present the Kealy Cup to acting captain for this special occasion Russell Kealy.Tea sandwiches and refreshments was served to the teams and supporters

Regional Feile nGael Tournaments
St. Martins u 14 Hurlers took part in the regional Feile Tournament in Thomastown they were grouped with Glynn/Bartown (Wexford), St Finbarrs (Cork), Craobh Chiarain (Dublin). After some good hurling and wins against the Wexford and Dublin and a loss against the Cork lads, St. Martins finished as runners up. St.Finbarrs as group winners went on to win the final which was played in Clara.
