St Martins played Graigue Ballycallan in the Junior A League in Coon. Martins played against the breeze in the opening half and trailed 1-1 to 0-11. With the wind in the second half and goal power in the forwards Martins went on to win ,scoring a vital goal in the dying minutes of the game. Final score 4-4 to 0-14.

Juniors turn things around


St. Martins played neighbours Erins Own in the Junior League Championship in Coon, the visitors dominated in the opening half and led at the break 0-9 to 0-5.  A goal from a twenty metre free early in the new half and some long range range efforts from free taker Stephen Murphy set Martins on the road to victory and turn things around  against a strong Erins Own side.  Final score 1-14 to 0-12.  The pitch and grounds  looked  great after development work.

St.Martins JuniorA team recorded their first win in the Junior A League with a win against the Emeralds in Urlingford.Martins held a slender lead at halftime,2-7 to 2-6.Wind assisted in the second half Martins pulled away to win 3-12 to 2-9.

Goal decisive


St. Martins made the long trip to Slieverue for their first match in the All County Junior League.The first was even until the last five minutes when Slieverue added three unanswered points to lead at the break 0-7 to 0-4.Martins playing with the wind took the lead and looked set for victory, but a goal for Slieverue proved decisive .Final score 1-10 to 0-12.

Junior As start with draw


St Martins and Young Irelands of Gowran played out a competive draw in the first roundof the Junior A League.Martins had a one point lead at the break 2-6 to 1-8.Played in Coon,both sides  had oppertunities to win but adraw was a fair result. Final score 2-10 each.

Juniors bow out


An under strength St Martins bowed out of the Junior Hurling Championship when the lost out to Dicksboro in the first round of the Championship, played in Ballyragget .The first half of the game was a low scoring affair with Dicksboro leading 0-4 to 0-2.St Martins had a better start to the second half but is was who finished the stronger to win 0-15 to 0-7.

Martins make Final


St. Martins Juniors had a good victory over a hard tryiny Dunnamaggin to qualify for the Paddy  Cahill Cup final.The seeds of victory were sown in the first half with two goals to give a lead  of 2-8 to 0-8 at the break,playing against a fresh wind.Dunnamaggin never stopped  trying  but Martins built on their lead to run out winners 3-19 to 0-15.O Loughlin Gaels will be our opponents in the final date and  venue to be decided.

Semi-Loss


St. Martins put in a great effort but came up a little short against Lisdowney in a well contested NorthernJunior League  Semi Final. The  first half ended  with the Lisdowney side in the lead 0-9 to 0-7.Martins looked like the might pull off a famous win and they took a three point lead with ten minutes to go, this was a well worked goal ,a great diagonal ball into the corner was won by Paul Maher who beat his man and passed to Robert Shore who laid it on for sub Brian Byrne to finish to the net.It was Lisdowney who finished the stronger to get the vital scores in added time.Result0-16 to to 1-11.

First round defeat


St. Martins suffered a defeat in the first of the Junior A Championship when the lost out to a good Young Irelands side.On a warm day in Clara the Gowran side led at half time 0-10 to 0-6 The second half was dominated by Gowran but Martins tried their very best right to the final whistle. Final score 0-21to2-8. Martins the Junior B Champions from last can be proud of their efforts in a higher grade with a good mix of  experience and some fine young hurlers blended in  by the selectors.

Juniors loose out by single point

The Juniors played Barrow Rangers  in the league on Sunday in Paulstown.  Playing against a stiff wind in the first half they were only 2 points down at half time. 1-03 to 0-08.  Early in the second half Barrow Rangers got  a goal to go ahead by 5 pts but Martins kept battling and brought it back to  a point.  Final score St. Martins 1-12 Barrow Rangers 1-13.
