St. Martins recovered from their League Final defeat to win the first round of the Junior B Championship v Cloneen in Ballyhemmon.Martins were first to settle and were leading at the break 2-7 to 0-3 and carried on to run out winners 3-16 to 1-6.

Martins into Final of Byrne Cup


Following Muckalee footballers qualifing for the County final last night St. Martins did likewise tonight after a hard fought victory over Dicksboro. With torrential rain during parts of the game conditions were very difficult the half time score was 1-5 to 0-5 in favour of Martins. This lead was held right to the end, final score 1-12 to 1-9.Played in James Park.

U16 Loose out to Bennettsbridge


The u16 played Bennettsbridge in the final round of the league in Muckalee on Sunday morning.  Martins started well with a early goal but Bennettsbridge responded with 2 points.  Half time score M 1-06  B 1-08.   It was Bennettsbridge who got off to a good start in the second half with a goal.  Martins kept fighting and were rewarded with a late goal but unfortunally it wasn’t enough.  Final score M2-08  B 2-16.

Flying finish


St Martins and O Loughlins clashed in the Northern Junior Championship in Johns Park .O Loughlins Gaels  started well and led at half time 1-6 to 0-8.When the lead increased to seven points with less than ten minutes remaning it looked like the points were destined for the Gaels,but St Martins had other ideas and put in a flying finish to win by two points.

Hard Luck in Final


St.Martins great run in this years Junior B League came to an end inthe County Final.Played in Thomastown against Southern Champions Carrickshock this was a well contested game from start to finish, despite heavy showers .The half time was 0-5 to 0-4 Martins leading,both sides gave their all in inpursuit of victory and Carrickshock landed the title with a one point victory.Hard luck to the lads, who can now look forward to the Championship.Final Score 0-11SM 0-12 CS .

Juniors win North League


St.Martins are North Junior League Champions ,they  defeated Blacks and Whites.Played at Palmerstown before a good attendance Martins had first use of the fresh  breeze and were  leading at the break 1-8 to 0-5. On the resumption  the Skaughvosteen side added three points in three minutes but a mighty free from over a hundred metres settled the Martins who dominated the last quarter to retain the League Title and look forward to the County Final.Well done to the Lads,This was their tenth league win in a row.

Saint Martins and James Stephens put on good game for the big attendance in Freshford.In a well contested game a goal in the first half gave the City side a lead at half -time 1-9 to 0-11 not a true reflection of  Martins play who put in some great hurling.The second half never reached the heights of the first half scoring wise and Martins lost out by one point.Final Score 1-16 to 1-15 (All frees scored  J S 0-12 S M 0-5)
