St Martin’s U8 at Camogie blitz

The final U8 camogie blitz of the year for the St. Martin’s girls was held in Kilmanagh on Saturday the 1st September, hosted by the St Brigid’s Camogie club.  The lovely sunny morning brought a large turnout for the final games of the season.

In the first game, the St. Martin’s girls were up against Freshford and after a fine performance came out on top.  Next up were Tullaroan, a team St. Martin’s had already played in a challenge game a few weeks before. After another fine performance and some good goal scoring St. Martin’s, came out the winners.  The final game was against the host club, St Brigid’s, who proved too strong on the day for the St. Martin’s girls.

The St. Martin’s girls showed some great skill and determination over the course of the three games and were thrilled to receive their Go Game medals at the end of the blitz.

Players on the day were Lucy Coogan, Alison Shortall, Katie Purcell, Ellen Lawlor, Angela Fahey, Niamh McDowell, Cora Dooley, Aimee Menton, Amy Ring, Roisin Hanlon, Sarah Brennan, Hannah McCarthy, Amelie Bolger, Leah Fahey, Sinead Carrigan, Grace Healy, Leah McCarthy, Chloe Ryan, Orla Moore, Ciara Butler with trainers Lucy Lawlor and Mick Fahey.
