Minors gain win in the sun

With the return of a number players from injury St Martins gained their first win of the year when they defeated Clara.

The game was played in sweltering conditions and was tied after the first ten minutes 0-2 a piece.

A goal after 15 minutes was followed by a couple of pints on the trot which set ‘Martins up nicely at half time to lead 1-8 to 0-6.

Clara hit a goal from a ’21 and the game tightened as a result but the young Saints made better use of their scoring chances to win 2-12 to 1-9.

Credit to both sides for playing in such extreme conditions.
