Martin’s suffer defeat

St. Martin’s travelled to Hugginstown to take on Carrickshock this evening in the Aylward Cup.  The home-side were the first team to settle and notched up an early lead rarely missing scoring chances.  The men from the hills found it hard to convert chances and the half time score stood at Carrickshock 0-11, St. Martin’s 0-5.  In the second half, St.Martin’s struggled and with the loss of Brendan Maher and James Dowling to injury, only adding 4 points to their tally.  On a wet, cold evening, it was the ‘Shock’s night as they ran out winners on a scoreline of 0-16 to 0-9.
