Juniors come up short

St Martins Junior’s made the trip to Larchfield to take on James Stephens in the Junior Hurling League but lost out by three after a well contested game. Martins had a one point lead at half time 1-6 to 1-5 , the goal was scored by Brian Mulhall.  The home side came more into the game in the second  and ran out winners 2-15 to 2-12. Thomas Walsh scored the second  goal with a long delivery from midfield to give Martins the lead with ten minutes to go but Stephens finished the stronger. A nice feature of the game was the match up between former Kilkenny stalwart Philly Larkin and Shane Kinsella.
