JJ Kavanagh & Sons Junior Hurling League Rd.4

In a calm Muckalee this evening, St. Martin’s took on Mullinavat in the Junior Hurling League.  Shane Kinsella and Donal Shore got the Martin’s men off to a good start going 2 points up before Mullinavat took the lead going 1-5 to 0-3 up with the help of a goal from David Murphy.  Points from Shane Kinsella, Paddy Brennan, Luke Maher and Paul Maher clawed the deficit down to one point with 28 and a half minutes on the clock as the half time whistle sounded early to leave the score St. Martin’s 0-10 Mullinavat 1-8.  The lead swayed from side to side in the second half with a flurry of points from Jason Shore, Shane Kinsella, Donal Shore, Tommy Quirke and Paul Maher.  Jason Shore was called from his lines to take a 20m free which he duly converted by finishing it to the back of the net.  However, Mullinvat were busy with Joseph Galvin and Jamie Fennelly picking off points with the latter scoring his sides second goal.  The final score ended up with Martin’s losing out by  3 points, St. Martin’s 1-17, Mullinavat 2-17.
