Good win for U14


The under 14 played Dicksboro B in Clara in the first round of the championship.  They got off to a good start scoring 1-4 before Dicksboro registered their first point from a free.  They continued their good run and led at half time 3-7 to 0-4.  They started the second half  with some good points and ran out easy winners 4-14 to 1-06.  They now meet Johnstown in the quarter final on Monday next.

U12s travel to Lucan Sarsfields


Our U12 team traveled to Lucan Sarsfields on Saturday29th August last to compete in their Féile Competition. The team travelled by Bus on Saturday morning and played 3 games in total. They finished the day 3rd in their group and all thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

First Title for Junior B


A first Title for Saint Martins at this grade after a great game between two good sides .The Rower Inistioge were first to settle and dominated the early exchanges only some last gasp defending and good saves kept Martins in the game and when Martins scored a great Team goal they went onto lead at half 1-6 to 0-8.In the second half Martins added nine points to four for Inistioge to claim this historic Victory.Martins lined out without Damien Maher following an injury in the North Final also lost forward Brian Malone to injury at the start of the second half.Dermot Lalor accepted the Cup from County Board  Chairman Paul Kinsella who congragulated both sides on their sportmanship and Martins on winning.

The u14 played Graigue ballycallan in the final of the Paulstown tournament .  They started the game well and led a half time 1-07 to 0-02.  Ballycallan up their performance in the second half and with the aid of the strong breeze won by 1-09 to 1-07.

North Champions


St Martins are North Junior B Champions after defeating Erins Own in a great contest  at Ballyragget.The standard of the hurling was top class despite the high wind. Erins Own had first use of the wind and led at half time by 1-9 to 1-4 . Wind assisted Martins set about reducing the lead in determined fashion and  added twelve points ,despite heavy rain in the last minutes the standard of the game never dropped ,great credit to two fine teams .This was Martins first victory at this  grade.The Cup was presented to Martins Captain Dermot Lalor by Northern Board  Officer Donal Brennan.Final Score 1-16 to 1-11.

u14 Reach Paulstown Final


18/08/09

The u14 played Paulstown in the semi-final of their tournament last night.  This was a very good team performance with some good points scored.  They led a half time 2-09 to 0-06.  They continued to dominate in the second half and finished easy winners 3-15 to 0-09.  On reaching the  final they had a win over Danesfort and a walk-over from Ballyraggett.  Next up is Graigballycallan in the Final on Sunday morning.  Best of luck boys.
