St. Martin’s U14 V Danesfort in Danesfort
On Tuesday 14th June after playing into a very strong wind in the first half St. Martin’s found themselves 2-5 to no score after 20 minutes before we got off the mark with a well taken goal and two more points followed to leave the half time score with Danesfort leading 2-5 to 1-2.
After some hard work they reduced the lead to 2 points with 5 minutes to go but loosing in the end with a final score line of Danesfort 2-10, St. Martin’s 1-9.

U14 Hurlers up their game for James Stephens
Sunday 5th June saw St. Martin’s U14s take on The Village in Coon in a league thriller. This promised to be a tough encounter and it live up to expectations. St. Martin’s got off to a great start with an early goal and slowly extended their lead with quality points. The game was fought in every position will all playing to their best. At half time St. Martin’s were a goal ahead.
The second half saw some tough challenges but St. Martin’s held their ground and saw off challenge after challenge to finish up strong winners with a final score of 4-6 to 1 -5. Well done again.

U14 Hurlers meet O’Loughlin’s B in the League
Thursday night 26th May in Muckalee saw St. Martin’s U14 hurlers take on O’Loughlin’s B team in the League. A great panel of 24 togged out to play for the home side.
St. Martin’s commanded the game from the throw in and found their scores with ease while O’Loughlin’s struggled to get anything past our magnificent backs for most of the first half. After half time St. Martin’s made many changes to the line up so as to give the younger players more experience and they each played their part. Well done to all.

St. Martin’s U14 Footballers are County Champions.
On a beautiful sunny evening in Thomastown on Friday 20th May St. Martins U14 Footballers took on Gowran in the County Final.
The game was fought hard from the throw in with scores being hard to find for both sides at the beginning but St. Martin’s gradually pulled away once they found their confidence between the posts. St. Martin’s showed their strength and commitment in all quarters of the field and were well in command at half time. After the break St. Martin’s never faltered picking their scores with great accuracy and finishing up worthy winners with a final score of 3-11 to 4 points.
Celebrations kicked into full swing with the winners reception being held in Mc Donalds for the hungry bunch.

U14s Hurlers collect more league points.
Our U14s faced Galmoy/Windgap on Saturday 14th May in Coon in a cold and very wet day. St. Martin’s did exactly what was asked of them and started strong with some great pints and a goal before the visitors responded and they came on strong in bursts but St. Martin’s responded each time with 8 members of the team taking scores and finished up well ahead with the final score at 4-15 to 1-6. Keep up the good work lads.

U14 footballers meet The Railyard in Football Championship Semifinal.
St. Martin’s U14 team played The Railyard in the Semi final of The Football Championship in Palmerstown on Monday 9th May after what can only be described as a bezare turn of events at Kilkenny GAA HQ. St. Martin’s lads were determinded from the start and registered 1 goal and 3 pints immediately. The Railyard came back into the game however before half time and we were only 1 pint up at the break. After some tough talking at half time St. Martin’s troops fought for every ball and with 10 minutes to go the game was anybodys untill our boys broke loose and scored pint after pint and a few goals for good measure. Final score 4-10 to 2-5. It was an excellent display of team work and never-dye attitude from each of the lads and we wish them well now in the County Final against Gowran.

U14 Duggan Steel Hurling League
St. Martin’s U14 team travelled to Mullinavat to play their squad in the League on Saturday 7th May. Conditions were for the most part ideal despite a heavy shower of rain in the 2nd half. St. Martin’s got into the lead early and went from strength to strength with 11 memebers of the team registerig scores. They never backed off and went on to win very comfortably.

U-14s in Féile games.
Our Under 14 hurling team took part in the Féile games at the weekend at Palmerstown. They played 3 games in all putting up a good display in each. Unfortunately Dicksboro and Conahy proved too strong on this occasion but they drew with Slieve Rue after trailing for most of this game. Well done to all. Training continues in preparation for the up coming games next weekend.
U14 secure win over Dicksboro
The u14 played Dicksboro on Saturday. They proved to strong for Dicksboro and won on a score of 5-08 to 0-0.

The U14 played Railyard on Saturday in Muckalee. The first half was very even with Railyard ahead by a point at half time. St Martins 1-01 Railyard 1-02. Railyard started the second half with a quick goal. Even thought Martins continued to battle hard they found it hard to score. Final score St. Martins 1-03 Railyard 3-04.
