Martins lose
St Martins lost out to Ballyhale Shamrocks in the first round of the Senior hurling League. The game was played in sun drenched Nowlan Park with both sides short of some injured players. After a well contested opening half it looked like being a draw, but a late goal by the Shamrocks gave them a lead at the break 2-6 to 1-6. The second half was dominated for long periods by Martins who worked many goal chances and with minutes remaining the sides were level but is was Shamrocks who pulled away in added time to maintain their half-time advantage 2-12 to 1-12.

St.Martins JuniorA team recorded their first win in the Junior A League with a win against the Emeralds in Urlingford.Martins held a slender lead at halftime,2-7 to 2-6.Wind assisted in the second half Martins pulled away to win 3-12 to 2-9.

Goal decisive
St. Martins made the long trip to Slieverue for their first match in the All County Junior League.The first was even until the last five minutes when Slieverue added three unanswered points to lead at the break 0-7 to 0-4.Martins playing with the wind took the lead and looked set for victory, but a goal for Slieverue proved decisive .Final score 1-10 to 0-12.

Junior As start with draw
St Martins and Young Irelands of Gowran played out a competive draw in the first roundof the Junior A League.Martins had a one point lead at the break 2-6 to 1-8.Played in Coon,both sides had oppertunities to win but adraw was a fair result. Final score 2-10 each.

Martins new manager
Sean o Neill has been appointed new manager of St Martins for the coming year,Sean will be joined by Brendan Morrissey,John Mcgrath, Jonny Brennan,as selectors and Niall Moloney as skills coach.Chairman Richard O Shea wished best of luck to all.
