The Drive for Liam Quiz with take place this Thursday night 27th August in The Cave Bar and The Ranchers Return. Throw in at 8.30pm.
Junior b’s advance to quarter final
2/8/15
The Junior b team took on Lisdowney in the first round of the championship in Muckalee on Sunday. Playing with the wind in the first half Martins put on the pressure and led at half time 2-05 to 0-05. The second half started with Lisdowney opening the scoring. Martins had to defend right to the end. Final score St Martin’s 2-10 Lisdowney 1-12.

Junior b secures another win

The Junior b team took on Galmoy on Monday night in their second game in the North Junior b Championship. They started well scoring 1-05 before Galmoy registered their first score. They continued to dominate and led at half time 3-07 to 0-06. Galmoy started the second half well scoring a quick goal but the lads were never in danger and continued with some fine points to leave the final score at St Martin’s 4-16 Galmoy 1-11. Next game is on Friday 17th in Palmerstown 7.30 against Dicksboro.

County Final ends all square
On a dry but blustery evening Muckalee appearing in their seventh succesive Senior Football Final faced reining Champions Railyard in Nowlan Park a repeat of last years final. It was the Champions who made the brighter opening Ronan Walsh pointing in the second minute, Muckalee got off the mark in the eleventh with a free from Colin McGrath after a foul on Aidan Murphy. Joe Maher was next to score a point followed by two for the Railyard Sean Dowd and Philip Roche . A strong finish with three points a free from Colin McGrath when John Maher was fouled and a brace from Eoin McGrath to leave the score 0-5 to 0-3. On the resumption Cormac McDonald pointed John Maher pointed a free after he was fouled. The next two score weny to Caleb Roche a poited free and a 45 that ended in the net for the games only goal . Their was still ten minutes on the clock and a great effort earned Muckalee a draw with two pointed frees from Colin McGrath the first a foul on himself the second a foul on John Maher. In a frantic finish both sides had chances to win but in goes to a replay. Final score 0-8 t0 1-5. Muckalee will rue the amount of wides they had during the game and the loss of Paul Maher who failed a fitness test before the game still it was a well contested and sporting game for the fans

Senior Manager steps down
Sean O’Regan has stepped down as Senior Hurling manager of St Martins GAA Club which was confirmed at Thursday nights monthly club committee meeting. Sean was particularly unlucky during his time in charge with the number of injuries to players during his time in charge & was wished well in his future endeavours by Club Chairman John Ryan who thanked him for his efforts. The club will now move to appoint a manager over the next few days.

Kilkenny Bord Na nOg PRO Patrick O’Flynn presents The U14 Team Captain with the Duggan Steel U-14 Roinn B League Final Trophy after defeating Clara in the final.
