Byrne Cup win

St Martins defeated Shamrocks of Ballyhale in the Byrne Cup final which was called off earlier in the week due to the bad weather. Shamrocks had first use of a strong cross field  breeze and the half time score was 9 points each. Martins added two goals in the second half the first came from a pass  from John Mulhall to Joe Maher who finished well, the second came from James Dowling who was set up by John Maher. Shamrocks replied with a goal of their own in the dying moments to leave the full-time score 2-12 to 1-13. Johns Park was in in good condition and the good size crowd enjoyed a well contested final. U6 Camogie challenge

The U6 camogie girls played their first match in Muckalee on Friday 27th July against Dicksboro.  Having trained hard all season the girls were really looking forward to testing their skills in this challenge game.  The fine evening brought out the supporters for this big “match“.  The St. Martins girls were up against a strong Dicksboro team but they never gave up and put on a great display right to the end.  Both teams played well with some very good individual performances from both sides much to the delight of the supporters. A great evening was had by all and well done to all the players.
