BORD NA NOG GOES BAG PACKING
The Bord Na Nog will hold its annual bag packing days on June 24th/25th in Dunnes Stores Kierans Street. This helps with the every day expenses of the club (hurls, hurling balls and equipment). Anyone interested in helping out can contact any committee member.
Dog Night at Kilkenny Track
St. Martins Hurling Club and Muckalee Football Club will hold their annual Dog Night on June 25th at Kilkenny Dog Track. This funraising event helps with the development work (ongoing at each field at present). Tickets cost €10 and are available from any committee member. Come along and enjoy the crack.
Junior A Win
St.Martins played in the Junior A League for the first time in three years, having gained promotion last year winning the Junior B Championship followed by the All Ireland Club Championship in the same grade. Tullaroan were our opponents this evening in Muckalee and and a very competitive game was enjoyed by the good sized attendance. A well taken goal was the differance between the sides at the break 1-6 to0-6. Martins kept up the presure in the second half to run out winners by 1-13 to 0-11. A feature of the St.Martins side was performance of four seventeen year players making their debut at this level David Breen Rurai Kinsella Luke Maher and Thomas Walsh.

Winning start
St Martins made a winning start to the Senior Hurling League with a win against all Ireland Club Champions Ballyhale Shamrocks.Martins made a blistering start with three great points but Shamrocks replied with a goal and two points in a lively first half .Martins led at half time 0-8 to 1-4.The second half had a mixture of sunshine and heavy showers which reflected the fortunes of Martins who looked certain for a win but a late goal for Shamrocks seemed to have secured a draw but a winning point was greeted with great acclaim by the big Martins support in Nowlan Park.Final Score 0-18 to 2-11.

Juniors recover to win
St Martins recovered to win against O Loughlin Gaels in the Junior Hurling League .Played in Muckalee it was the visitors who started well and dominated the first halh to lead at the break 1-5 to 0-4.It was a much improved Martins in the second half with the backs and goalie (who was making his debut at this level) giving a good supply to our forwards who delivered in style to add 1-8 ,final score 1-12 to 1-9.

La Na Club Day
St. Martins GAA club will hold its La Na Club day on May 9th in Muckalee Pitch. Its a day of Family fun with our under 8/10/12 showing their skills and playing mini matches. Also their will be activities for the mammies and daddies on the day so come along and make it an enjoyable day .
U16 narrowly beaten
The u 16 played Conahy in the first round of the League. This was a good battle throughout. Martins opened the scoring with a pointed free. Conahy replied and got 2 quick goals but Martins kept attacking and eventually it paid off with a goal. Martins finished the half with 3 unanswered points. Half time score Martins 1-07 Conahy 3-06. Following the start of the second half Martins got a quick goal to leave 2 between the sides. Conahy replied quickly with a goal of their own. Martins dug deep and reduced the margin to a single point but Conahy out scored them in the closing minutes to win. Final score St. Martins 3-11 Conahy 5-12.

The Minors played Camross on Monday in Muckalee. Martins started well with 4 unanswered points before Camross pointed a free. This was followed with a free for Martins by Luke Maher. Just before half time Martins had 2 goals and a point by Ruairi Kinsella to lead at half time 3-06 to 0-05. Early in the second half Ruairi Kinsella struck again with another goal. Camross replied with 2 points and got a late goal to leave the final score St. Martins 3-09 Camross 1-09.

Played under lights in Muckalee it was the visitors who settled getting some great scores, but the home side improved greatly to lead at the break 0-12 to 1-7 St Martins kept going strong to the finish to run out Winners 1-22 to 2-13
