Martins Pipped


On our second trip to Kilmanagh in a week St Martins were pipped in injury by Grigue Ballycallan in the Junior A Hurling League.The home side dominated early on and built up a 0-1 to 0-7 after twenty minutes but Martins fought their way back into the game at the break it was 0-10-to 1-3.The second half was just as good as the first and with minutes remaining Martins were five points down but fought back to level with time up ,but Ballycallan had the final point to pip Martins. in added time.Full time2-17 to 2-16.

Bag Packing


St Martins Bord Na Nog will be bag packing in Dunnes Stores Kieran street on Thurs 24th and fri 25th June from 10 to 6 each day. If anyone is available to help they can contact Breda on 0879558578.

U 10s start with a Win


St Martins U10s started their 2010 Go Games campaign with two great wins over the Fenians, Johnstown last Thursday evening in Muckalee. All 24 members of the panel got extensive game time and it is great to see everyone improving their skills as we go through the summer. Our remaining games will be against Cloneen and Tullaroan. Cup win


St. Martins travelled to Kilmanagh to take on Graigue Ballycallan in the first round of the Alward Cup.On a wet and windy night Martins had first use of the elements an led at the break 0-10 to 1-4.The Ballycallan side added seven points to their score but victory went to Martins in a tight finish.

Juniors win


St Martins Junior A team put in a very solid display to overcome Young Ireland of Gowran.Played in Muckalee they built up a lead of 3-11 to 1-6 at half time and carried on to finish strongly on a score of 3-18 to 2-6.

U14 reach Shield semi-final

The u 14 played Emeralds in the quarter final on friday evening.  From the start Martins were on top and never looked in any danger of loosing.  Leading at half time by 2-05 to 0-03.  In the second half they used all their subs and ended with a final score of 4-12 to 0-04.  Emeralds are a very young team with some nice hurlers.

St Martins lost out to Barrow Rangers in the All County Junior Hurling League game played in Paulstown.Martins started slowly and were five points down after as many minutes,and went on to trail at half time 2-13 t0 1-6.The second half followed a similar pattern , the final score was 2-22 to2-12.
