Fr. Delaney Tournament


The U10 team played Conahy in the final of the Fr. Delaney tournament in Muckalee on Monday .  They were that bit stronger and won the game .  It was a good end to the year for them.  Many thanks to Fr. Delaney for presenting the medals and to the ladies who provided refreshments.

Bord Na Nog AGM


The AGM of the Bord Na Nog will take place on Friday 20th of November in Muckalee Community Centre at 8 pm.  All are welcome.

Minors loose out to Lisdowney

The minors bowed out of the Championship this afternoon.  They started well and opened the scoring  with a free by Canice maher.  This was followed by 3 more also by Canice before Lisdowney got their first a point from a free.  They followed this by another point and then they got 2 quick goals to leave them ahead by 2 points.  But Martins regrouped and got back to go in level at half time.  St. Martins 0-10 Lisdowney 2-04.  After the restart their was exchanges of points before Martins were down to 14 men with the  sending off of Luke Maher.  The lads worked hard and after 18 mins they were ahead by 2 points but this was to be their last score and Lisdowney shot over 6 unanswered points to win.  Final score St. Martins 0-15 Lisdowney 2-13.

Best of luck to John Mulhall who has been named in the shortlist for the Breaking Through Player of the Year award in U21.  Also on the list are Joe Canning (Galway)   John Conlon, Darach Honan, Colin Ryan from (clare) and Richie Hogan (Kilkenny).  The winner will receive a voucher worth €1000 and the result will be announced in the coming days.

Minors reach semi-finals


The minors beat Tullaroan to reach the semi-final stage of the championship.  This was a tough game played in ideal conditions.  Martins started well and led at half time 1-10 to 0-07.  They continued to dominate in the second half and eventually won 3-17 to 0-15.  Their next match is against Lisdowney next weekend.

The u 14 completed the double today by winning the roinn c county final.  They beat Tullogher Rosbercon 1-09 to 0-07.  This was always going to be a close battle.  Martins started well with points from Donal Shore (3) and Shane Kinsella (1) before Tullogher scored their first.  Tullogher scored 2 more from frees before William Trousdell stepped up with Martins  goal leaving them ahead at half time 1-04 to 0-03.  The second half was close with both sides battling hard for everything but Martins held out and secured victory. final score 1-09 to 0-07.

Seniors exit


Saint Martins made their exit from the senior Championship this evening at Nowlan Park.Martins never reached the same level of performance as last weeks game against Carrickshock.James Stephens were in the lead at half time 1-8 to 1-4,on the resumption Martins did their best hurling and drew within  ten minutes but James Stephens replied with two goals to seal the game and advance to the semi-final, on a beautyfull evening for hurling.Final Score 3-18 to1-17

Time change


The minors will now play Tullaroan in the quarter final on sunday at 1 o clock in palmerstown instead of 5 o clock as advertised.

Also best of luck to the u14 who play Tullogher Rosbercon in the county final on sunday at 11 o clock in Palmerstown and to the senior team who play the Village on saturday at 5 o clock in Nowlan Park.

Juniors bow out


St. martins bowed out of the Northern Junior Championship at the quarter final going down to a strong finishing O Loughlin Gaels side.Martins started well and at the break led by 1-6 to 0-6. A further point early in the second half to extend the lead but this was to be the last and not enough to deny the Gaels.Played in ideal conditions  a dissapointing end  to the season for our lads but they can take great heart from  their performances during the year.Final score 1-7 to 0-15
