Mullinivat made the long trip to Coon to to take on Saint Martins in the Aylward Cup tie.The game was slow to get going on a good evening for hurling,the half-time score was 1-8 to 1-4 in Martins favour.The game improved after the break and it was the home side who took the point,final score 1-17 to 3-6.

Victory over Boro in Palmerstown
St. Martins had a victory over Dicksboro in the third round of the Aylward Cup. Played on the longest day of 2011 the evening cleared up well after a downpours earlier.After an even first half, two late goals gave Martins a lead of 2-10 to 0-8 at the break . Dicksboro added 1-7 in the second half as did Martins . Final score 3-17 to 1-15.

Aylward cup win
St Martins opened the defence of the Aylward Cup with a home game in Coon.The opening half was well contested with two goals by Martins the big scores of the first half, 2-5 to 0-6. The Rower/Inistioge could not keep up the same effort in the second half and Martins pulled away to record a good win.

First points
St. Martins picked up their first points of the Senior League Championship when they beat Clara. Played in Gowran in a gale both sides had difficulties finding their range early on . Martins finished the half the stronger and a good move involving John Mulhall who passed to Eoin McGrath who in turn set up a goal scoring oppertunity for John Maher who finished to the corner of the net giving the Clara goalie no chance.A vital score as Clara were well in the game, half time score !-4 to 0-3.Martins defence and midfield countinued with a great workrate getting a good supply to the forwards who added the points,final score 1-13 to 0-8.

Martins lose
St Martins lost out to Ballyhale Shamrocks in the first round of the Senior hurling League. The game was played in sun drenched Nowlan Park with both sides short of some injured players. After a well contested opening half it looked like being a draw, but a late goal by the Shamrocks gave them a lead at the break 2-6 to 1-6. The second half was dominated for long periods by Martins who worked many goal chances and with minutes remaining the sides were level but is was Shamrocks who pulled away in added time to maintain their half-time advantage 2-12 to 1-12.

Martins out
St. Martins bowed out the Senior Hurling Hurling Championship when the lost out to O Loughlin Gaels.On a good day for hurling St. martins trailed at the break 2-5 to 1-5. Martins fought back well into the game following a good second half performance but it was the Gaels who advanced to the semis in a tight finish. Martins will be dissapointed not to make more progress with tallent available. Final score 2-12 to 1-12.

Martins make Quarters
St.Martins advanced to the quarter finals of the Championship after a six point win over last years Intermediate winners St. Lactains of Freshford.Played in Ballyragget this was always going to be a well contested and so it proved leading at the half way 0-10 to 0-07. Martins had to survive a spirited fight back by Lactains and with minutes remaining it was anyones game but Martins dug deep to make the draw on Monday next when our opponents will be known.

Alward Cup Win
St Martins and OLoughlin Gaels fought out a tough Alward Cup Final in Freshford,each side lined out without their County Players who are busy preparing for next Sundays All Ireland Final.The first half was close with the most important score, a goal for Martins following a great run by our Captain Eoin McGrath who passed to Brian Mulhall who finished in style to leave the half time score1-7 to 0-9.Unfortunately Brian picked up an injury which ruled him out of the second half. Martins added two more goals in the second half from Pauric Haughney and with the Martins defence denying the Gaels any they ran out winners on the score 3-13 to 0-16.The Cup was presented to Eoin by County Chairman Paul Kinsella.

Second win
St Martins registered their second win of the Senior League with a win over neighbours Clara,on a lovely evening in Erins Own Pitch.Martins held a five point lead at half time 0-9 to 0-4.Clara came more into the game after the break put Martins held on to record a one point victory which they just about deserved.Next up is the first round of the Championship which will be played after the All Ireland our most likely opponents will be Saint Lactains of Freshford altough this has to be confirmed by the county board.
