Improved performance
St. Patricks Ballyraggett were the visitors to Muckalee for their final game in the JJ Kavanagh Senior Football League Group C. With both sides equal on points it was the visitors who made the best start scoring 1-1 in the first three minutes , the opening score for Muckalee a point from fullback Ollie Walsh came in the twelfth minute and Muckalee went on to lead at the break 1-6 to 1-4. The goal was scored by John Mulhall the first of two he netted in the game. Ballyraggett goaled to retake the lead early in the second half but Muckalee took control of the game to run out winners 4-12 to 2-4. The goals from John Mulhall, Tom Breen, Bryan Byrne along with well worked points in an improved performance on their previous games in the group.

Kilmoganny win
Kilmoganny were the visitors to Muckalee and went away with the points on offer after a convincing win in the Senior Football League. On a cold and wintery night it was the visitors who made the best start ,the half time score was 1-1 to 0-6 the goal came from Eoin McGrath with the assist from Jason Shore. Muckalees best spell came after the resumption but when Kilmoganny scored their first goal the went on to win. Final score 2-11 to 1-3

FUN RUN DATE CONFIRMED
The St Martins / Muckalee GAA fun run date has been confirmed for Sunday 28th February.
The 5K run ( or walk ) will commence at 1.30pm from the St Martins Hurling field in Coon. Registration will take place in the Hall in Coon from 12.45pm. Light refreshments will be served in the hall for all after the run.
We would encourage all members and players to come along on the day, to “run” if they want to, but to certainly have “fun”.
There will be a prize for the first player home in every St Martins team …….bragging rights against all your team members 🙂
Registration is €10 for Adults and €5 for students, primary school kids are free.
First points
Muckalee picked up their first points of the Senior Football League after a hard earned win against Conahy, the game was played in Jenkinstown. Conahy were first on the scoreboard but Muckalee got into the game when Thomas Breen goaled after taking a pass from Shane Kinsella and Shane got a second goal after good work by Tom Morrissey to leave the interval score 2-6 to 0-2 . Conahy came out with renewed vigour scoring 1-2 without reply but scores from John Maher and Tom Morrissey steady matters until Conahy cut the lead to two points entering the closing minutes .Muckalee got the last score from Shane Dowling who was making his debut along with Tommy Quirke, Shane Kinsella and Thomas Breen. Final score 2-11 to 2-8.

Congratulations to Ciaran Brennan and Jack Nolan on their sucess with St Kierans College in winning the All Ireland Junior Colleges Championship.
First outing
Muckalee had their first outing of the Junior Football League which was played at home v Threecastles. The visitors were behind at the break 1-5 to 0-1. The second half continued in the same vein with Muckalee winning 3-12 to 0-4.

Muckalee played host to Graignamanagh in Muckalee and after a well contested game it was the visitors who advanced to the County Final .Graignamanagh had first use of the elements and were in the lead at the break 0-6 to 1-1. Muckalee’s scores came from a well finished goal from Jason Shore and a Mark Dowling point as well as a great save by Damien Egan set up the prospect of a good contest for the second half. Both sides had their chances and points from Brian Cody, Tommy Quirke and a goal from attacking half back Eoin Murphy had the sides level with time almost up and extra time beckoning, the visitors finished the stronger to register two points and advanced to the County Final on the score 1-8 to 2-3.
